Festival Schedule

The festival features captivating stage performances by local, national, and international Kathak artists! We will also have enriching activities like workshops, panel discussions, and presentations for Kathak students and artists across the NC area!

DAY 1

 

Friday, September 27 - Twin Lakes Community Clubhouse  (1002 Lake Grove Blvd, Cary, NC)

  • 4:00 pm to 4:30 pm - Registration 

  • 4:30 pm to 5:00 pm - Guru Naman 

  • 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm - Workshop - Guru Rajendra Gangani ji

  • 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm - Break 

  • 7:30 pm to  9:00 pm - Workshop -  Guru Rajendra Gangani ji​

  • 9:00 pm - Dinner 

 

DAY 2

 

Saturday, September 28 - Stewart Theater (2610 Cates Ave, Raleigh, NC 27695)​

(Exact tech and concert times are yet to be finalized)*

  • 3:00 pm - Doors open for public 

  • 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm - Concert 1 (school groups)

  • 5:00 pm to 5:30 pm - Break - School groups pick up dinner from backstage

  • 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm - Concert 2 (visiting artists)

  • 7:00 pm to 7:10 pm - Intermission

  • 7:10 pm to 8:30 pm -  Concert 2 continues

  • 9:00 pm - Dinner (visiting artists)


 

DAY 3

 

Sunday, September 29 - Theater Academy Productions (3761 NW Cary Pkwy Cary, NC)

  • 9:00 am to 10:30 pm- Workshop - Guru Rajendra Gangani ji

  • 10:30 am to 11:00 am - Break

  • 11:00 am to 12:30 pm - Workshop - Guru Rajendra Gangani ji​

  • 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm - Lunch

  • 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm -  “Matinee (Documentary/Mini Movie) 

  • 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm -  “Tabla Ensemble, Baithak and charcha” (Tabla, Padhant and Panel Discussion) 

  • 4:00 pm - Conclusion & Refreshments


Pass Details:

Workshop Pass:

  • Includes workshop with Pt. Rajendra Gangani ji

  • Students will be divided into intermediate/advanced proficiency groups

  • Intermediate level requires knowledge of at least 3 Taals and 1 Vandana

  • Advanced level requires knowledge of the entire Kathak repertoire - Vandana, multiple Taals, Abhinaya, and Tarana

  • Includes a mealbox for both days and access to afternoon sessions on Sunday

  • Movie + Panel Discussion Pass:

  • Includes access to afternoon sessions on Sunday (Documentary Film Viewing, Tabla Baithak, and Panel Discussion)

Student Pass:

  • Required for students participating in the concert

  • Includes access to the guest concert and a mealbox for the day

  • Theater administration fees
